Spring is just around the corner, and as we do every springtime, we’re getting ready for an interiors refresh. Whether it’s your home or your workspace that’s in need of a sprucing up, you’ll find lots of on-trend design inspo in our latest blog.

Research shows we’re headed for warmth in our interior designs this year. Here are some of our top picks for popular 2025 paints…

2025 is painted in earth tones

The cool greys and whites that have dominated interior design trends for the last few years are slowly but surely being set aside in pursuit of richer, warmer, cosier interior paint colours.

Where 2023 and 2024 set clean, crisp white and muted greys as the primary colours to be painting your walls with, in 2025, we’ve seen a resurgence in more natural earth tones: chocolate, terracotta, coffee, sand, taupe, tan, toffee, and wood, all complimented when combined with pale pinks, oranges, and warm whites.

“What we’re really seeing is a distinct shift from minimalist approaches to interiors, towards maximalist design looks,” says Lindsey. “With that, I think more people are embracing colour. Not just the earth tones that we’ve seen become very popular in recent months, but even bolder, more statement-making colours, like teal, yellow, and strong, dark greens.”

What's in is truly timeless elegance.

“A range we really love at the moment is the Sweet Treats collection from Little Greene. If you’re looking to update your look with earth tones, that’s a great place to start your search for the perfect paint colour! COAT also has a great warm palette range, with paints available in two finishes: flat matt and soft sheen.”

Go bold with jewel tones

Vintage is back, and with it, jewel tones are revived! Think deep emeralds, rich rubies, royal sapphires and aquamarines, luxe golds, and sophisticated opals.

“In terms of style and soft furnishings, we’re definitely seeing a vintage revival,” explains Lindsey. “Art Deco has made a huge comeback – bold lines, geometric design – and looks that fuse contemporary fashion with classic design elements are becoming increasingly popular.”

“With regard to paint trends, this resurgence has reintroduced bolder jewel tones to the market again. We’re now enjoying a lot of interesting colour combinations that harken to the past whilst still retaining a distinctively modern feel.”

It’s all yellow…

For 2025, you could say that yellow is the colour of the year. We’re seeing it on runways, in shop windows, in fabric trends, and now in paint trends, too.

“Yellow isn’t just being used for highlights and accents,” explains Lindsey. “It’s being fully embraced as the on-trend colour of 2025, which means people are going wall-to-wall with it.

“It lends itself well to the other trends we’ve seen emerge in recent months. Yellows and golds are prominent colours in art deco interior design, and likewise tie in well with the warm earth tones that are being adopted far and wide.

“I also think it’s a great colour to use in commercial settings, adding personality and sophistication to workspaces across all industries.”

Key trend: colour drenching

In 2025, we’re experimenting with colour — in a BIG way. Enough rooms have been drenched floor-to-ceiling in colour for us to be able to confidently say that colour drenching is a definite trend.

Colour drenching is basically what it says on the tin — drenching your room in one chosen colour. To be effective in achieving this look, you need to not just lean into it, but fully adopt the colour you’ve chosen across every aspect of your design.

“The paint colour plays a key part in it, but a lot of designers choose to take it one step further by seeking out furniture, lighting, and soft furnishings in the same colour, too. It’s a bold move, but the end result can be really effective!”

Popular bathroom paint colours

For bathrooms, neutral colours will always be in fashion. However, earth tones are coming through to the restroom too, with sage greens, warm beiges, deeper blues, and brighter yellows finding their place amongst the tiles and bathtubs.

In 2025, kitchen colours are warm and bold. The heart of the home has adopted the earth tone trend too, with rich jewel tones like emerald, ruby, and sapphire not out of place here, either.

When it comes to decorating your living space, there are definitely a few key considerations to make.

  • Is there plenty of natural lighting, or is it mainly lit artificially?
  • Is it open-plan and in connection with other rooms, or separated by walls and doors?

Ceiling height and the size of the room can also play a key part in your decision-making when it comes to choosing your wall paint.

But in 2025, there are a handful of colours that are taking over interior design inspiration boards…

1) Forest Green

Timeless and elegant, dark green exudes luxury and is well suited to classic and contemporary design looks — or spaces that combine the two.

2) Dusky Pink

For sophisticated warmth and brightness, we’d go with a nice rose or dusky pink — like Little Greene’s Hellebore, Pink Slip, or Ashes of Roses.

3) Warm Yellow

It catches the light well and creates a cosy space without being too overbearing. Yellow is a top pick for living room walls in 2025 and the perfect choice if you’re looking to refresh your interiors this spring.
